Chile's Time Difference to New York
Chile Standard Time (CLT)
From September 8, 2024, at 03:00 UTC (or 00:00 CLT), Chile will transition from Chile Daylight Time (CLDT) to Chile Standard Time (CLT). During this period, Chile's time will be one hour behind New York.
Chile Daylight Time (CLDT)
Chile's time is currently one hour ahead of New York because the country is observing CLDT. This time difference persists until the switch to CLT in September 2024.
Chile's Time Zones and Observances
Chile has two main time zones:
- Continental Chile: CLT and CLDT are observed throughout mainland Chile, excluding Easter Island.
- Easter Island: Easter Island has its own time zone, which is one hour behind Continental Chile (UTC-6).
Chile also observes Daylight Saving Time (DST). DST is in effect from the first Sunday in September to the first Sunday in April.
