Alexander Zverev: A Rising Star in the Tennis World
Early Life and Career
Alexander "Sascha" Zverev is a professional tennis player from Germany. Born in Hamburg on April 20, 1997, he is the son of former Soviet tennis players Alexander and Irina Zvereva.
Zverev started playing tennis at the age of five and quickly showed promise. He won his first junior tournament at the age of nine and went on to become one of the top juniors in the world.
Nickname and Background
Zverev's nickname, Sascha, is derived from his father's name, which is also Alexander. Since both he and his father share the same first name, he is called "Sascha" to distinguish between them.
Zverev's parents migrated to Germany in 1991, shortly before his birth. His father had played professional tennis and later became his coach, while his mother was a stay-at-home mom.
